I have been going here for all my dental needs for many years and have never had a bad experience. The receptionists upfront are both friendly and professional and definitely make you feel welcome. The dentists and hygienist are also very professional. The rooms are large, never making you feel like you're boxed in.

We switched to Shellard Lane Family Dental after our 6 year old daughter ended up with 3 abscessed teeth from another dentist. That was 8 years ago and I do not regret our decision at all. They were great when the kids were young and still are. The front desk staff are awesome.

For a Beautiful Smile and a Healthy Lifestyle

Straight teeth don’t just enhance your smile—they play a crucial role in preventing costly dental and medical issues. It may not seem like a big deal if your teeth are crooked and don’t cause immediate discomfort, but proper alignment is key to helping your teeth function well and last a lifetime.

Nearly 9 out of 10 people have some degree of crowding or misalignment, which can lead to:

  • Chipped teeth or tooth loss
  • Food getting trapped between teeth
  • Difficulty flossing and cleaning properly
  • Increased risk of cavities
  • Gum disease, which can raise the risk for serious systemic health problems like heart disease, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and stroke

If you’re experiencing any of these issues, we encourage you to schedule an appointment at our office for a thorough evaluation of your oral health.

When is a Good Time to Start?

Whether you’ve been considering straightening your teeth for a while or your dentist has recently recommended it, the best time to start is now. Waiting only leads to more months or years of dissatisfaction, along with an increased risk of tooth damage or related health issues. And remember, teeth continue to shift over time.

In a few years, your teeth could be more misaligned than they are today. The more movement required, the longer your treatment will take, and the cost may increase. Starting now is easier, faster, and more affordable.

Don’t worry about the cost—payment options are available, and you won’t need to pay the full amount upfront. Our office will be happy to discuss affordable plans that work for you.

What to Expect Once You Start Your Treatment

Our goal is to help you achieve both a healthy smile and overall well-being by ensuring your teeth are properly aligned and functioning as they should. No matter your age, it’s never too late to benefit from straightening your teeth.

Your Treatment Plan

We begin by taking digital scans of your teeth to create a customized treatment plan. With Invisalign’s advanced software, we can accurately predict how your teeth will move over time. You’ll even get a preview of how your teeth will look weeks, months, and at the end of your treatment. Once the plan is finalized, your custom aligners are made using Invisalign’s state-of-the-art printing technology.

The First Aligners

When your aligners arrive, small fasteners may be temporarily bonded to your teeth. These fasteners help secure the aligners in place, but they are mostly invisible and will be removed once your treatment is complete.

Follow-Up Appointments

You’ll receive a new set of aligners every two weeks, gradually shifting your teeth into their correct positions. Follow-up appointments are scheduled every 1-2 months to monitor progress and ensure the treatment is on track. By the end of your treatment, your teeth will be in their final, properly aligned position. Your journey to a healthier, more beautiful smile starts here!

Contact us today

to schedule an initial consultation & exam.

Your consultation will include an examination of everything from your teeth, gums and soft tissues to the shape and condition of your bite. Generally, we want to see how your whole mouth looks and functions. Before we plan your treatment we want to know everything about the health and aesthetic of your smile, and, most importantly, what you want to achieve so we can help you get there.

Cost of Invisalign in Brantford

With a typical insurance plan, Invisalign treatment usually costs between $3,000 and $5,000+ out-of-pocket. After an oral exam, we can provide a more accurate quote so you’ll know how much your insurance will cover and what your final expenses will be. Without insurance, the cost of Invisalign typically ranges from $4,000 to $6,000+.

So, how is the cost determined, and why does it seem expensive? Several factors come into play:

  • The current condition of your oral health
  • How much your teeth need to shift
  • The length of your treatment

Because every smile is unique, the best way to determine if Invisalign is the right solution for you, and how much it will cost, is to come in for a consultation. During your visit, we’ll listen to your personal goals, examine your teeth, and develop a personalized treatment plan that meets your needs.

Even if you’re unsure whether you qualify for Invisalign due to age or specific goals, it never hurts to ask. We offer solutions for various cases, from quick, simple treatments to more advanced functional and cosmetic needs. And if your case requires a specialist, we’ll refer you to the best in the field.

Don’t let crooked teeth hold back your confidence or affect your health—schedule a consultation to explore your options today!

Frequently Asked Questions

Invisalign is more comfortable and discreet than traditional braces. The clear, custom-fit trays are nearly invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. Plus, they can be easily removed for special occasions like presentations or events. Unlike braces, Invisalign trays don’t pinch or scratch, and if they do rub on your gums, they can be adjusted. Invisalign also applies gentler pressure, moving only a few teeth at a time, making it a more comfortable option compared to braces.

Invisalign works gradually, making small changes to your teeth over time. For minor adjustments, you’ll likely feel little discomfort within a few short weeks. More complex changes take longer, but comfort is a priority. If you ever feel pain during treatment, let us know so we can adjust your aligners to ensure you stay as comfortable as possible.

Invisalign treatment usually lasts 6 to 12 months, but most patients notice changes within the first 6 weeks. The total treatment time depends on how much movement your teeth need. For more extensive adjustments, you’ll need to wear your aligners for a longer period.

You should remove your trays and clean them twice a day, along with brushing your teeth. When removing your aligners, rinse them before putting them back in, and avoid leaving them exposed to open air for too long. For a deep clean, you can soak them in denture cleaner or Invisalign cleaning crystals. Just remember not to eat or drink with your trays in, and avoid using toothpaste to clean them. We’ll give you detailed care instructions when you start treatment.

No, you should remove your aligners before eating. Chewing can damage or even crack the aligners, and eating with them in can get quite messy. Be sure to take them out before meals to keep both your trays and your mouth clean.

Yes, you should wear your Invisalign trays both day and night, except when eating or drinking. For the aligners to work effectively, they need to constantly shift your teeth over time, so wearing them while you sleep is essential.
